Ndugunaweza

We had a mentoring session and giving out dignity kits for boys at Kibra, Nairobi. Each dignity kit consisted of two boxers, two vests, two pair of socks, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, lotion and a roll on.

Monthly the slums of Nairobi targeting under privileged boys.  Our goal is to reach the whole of Kenya.

Charity Boys Empowerment Program.

For a long time, a lot of organizations have been working with vulnerable adolescent girls in Nairobi and Kenya at large empowering them through talks and providing them with sanitary towels and other basic needs unique to the girl child which is very noble and needed in our society however as it stands the boy child has been totally forgotten and rarely will you find an organization that deals with the boy child especially the one in the slums who for someone who grew up in the slums like me I have firsthand experience of the vulnerability of these boys both in terms of psychological, mental and physical and basics needs.

It is out of this need for this unique target group that the idea to reach out to them was born. Out of our research and conversations with them, we found out, what they need:

·         Role models who have been where they are and can guide them

·         Motivation and mentorship

Provision of basic needs like toiletries, boxers, toothbrush, toothpaste .vests,

I have known Hamza Hassan for more than 2 years. He has been an inspiration to me and our organization too at large. He’ll lift me up when down. He’ll motivate me wen am at the breaking point of giving up. For our organization, he has been one of the major people in full support and giving us the right direction of how to go on about it and since ours is an emotional journey, he’s always there. We call him the fire brigade.

Today, there is a drought of good news and positive vibes, especially among young people. Have you wondered why suicide rates have been escalating? I am happy to see my friend Hassan, take initiative to fill this broad gap, being the very change he would life to see. This I have to respect, this I have to support and recommend. Spread the cheer! God bless.
